We are a registered Charity no. 1204015 run entirely by volunteers. We serve the patients of The Hillingdon Hospital, care home residents and the residents of the London Borough of Hillingdon, which in case you were wondering is close to Heathrow Airport, London, England.
We are based at Hillingdon Hospital and our aim is to help relieve sickness, poor health and old age amongst people living in Hillingdon and the surrounding areas. We do this by providing a radio service for hospitals, residential care homes and patients receiving community care. We broadcast music requests and dedications, national and local news and play the best selection of music for all ages, 24 hours a day.
Our service is available inside the hospital FREE of charge, using the Bedside Entertainment System on Radio Channel 45, on television screens around the hospital and online.
Check out THIS page for more ways to listen to us.
Radio Hillingdon is not funded by the NHS and all of our day to day running costs are met with funds raised by our volunteers. If you would like to help us please make sure you visit our Fund-raising page or use our web shop further down this page.

For a third year running Radio Hillingdon has scooped an Award. We received a 2022 SPECIAL Award at the National Hospital Broadcasting Awards called 'Recognising Innovation Across Hospital Radio'. This is designed to recognise those behind the scenes, this award celebrates pushing the boundaries and using innovative, novel or pioneering ideas.
During the 2020 lockdown David Brown one of our Founder Members and a retired IT Manager started looking at an idea to make an adapter that could be attached to a TV to show NHS and station information slides and play Radio Hillingdon live broadcasts from the TV speakers. He proved the idea worked and has so far built seven units. Four are located in various Hillingdon Hospital outpatient departments, one is running in the Choices Restaurant and two are in a local care home, with more planned.
